my plums have a large single seed in them. these trees (persimmons) i have on my place have about 4-8 seeds per fruit. and the bark on the simmon trees is rough not like my plum tree

The area which he found them is within the security fence of the Air Force base (AEDC). There is no telling what used to be where back in the days.....

Kinda what I've been thinking as well, but I just wanted to try and identify the fruit.

BTW I still haven't made it back out there to take pictures of the tree and leaves....

What did the bark look like? Dark and blocky = persimmon. Grayish and scaly = plum

I would be able to tell you if I could see the bark.
