Always enjoy my morning ride in. If I happen upon a hunter, I'll stop and say good morning and wish them the best of luck.
J/k. On one property I hunt, I'll ride all the way to the stand. Killed a nice 8 point standing 10 yards from my 4 wheeler. He didn't care one bit about the 4 wheeler being there.

I don't think it is a good idea to drive one in to hunt at all. They are nice for retreival. I believe that a mature deer will not ignore the sound of a 4 wheeler like younger ones may. You can kill deer in general, but I think it hurts your chances at mature deer. If it can potentially hurt your chances.
I would agree.

I usually park mine about 75yds. or so, away from my stands, and walk the same path in each time, to whichever stand. I've killed many a buck that had followed my path to where I was.
Last year, due to health reasons, I rode my atv right to my stand, and had just as many deer come around as before, some of which walked right past it while totally ignoring it.
The buck I killed last year was standing less than 30yds. down wind from it, when I pulled the trigger.
Oh well!

Easy there big boy! Save your little red faces!
How could you not possibly get to those spots without an ATV?
Is that how you get "Way out there"?
What did you do before ATV's?
If you are in reasonably good shape, then you do not need an ATV! If you have some physical limitation, then you do need an ATV.

We always get to the stand early. On certain areas we hunt we can see other hunters coming in. And ALWAYS see deer running or being pushed to us from others riding their 4-wheelers in to the stands.

My original response included more than red faces, but I deleted it because I don't want to stoop to name calling. Frankly, I resent the insinuation that I'm old, fat, or weak because I use a four wheeler.
And to answer your question, I hunt on a very large piece of property with a single point of access and no developed roads for street vehicles. There are areas of the property that would take me three hours to walk to. I'm simply not going to confine my hunting to the areas that I can walk in and out of from my truck.
Oh, and sometimes the only way to get "way out there" is with a vehicle... and then you start walking.

I noticed on the place I hunt,if I crank up the atv before daylight, I will not see a deer that day. If I wait until noon, no problem seeing deer. i usually dont unload until I shoot one.

I was always afraid to take use mine for anything other than retrieval because the exhaust fumes stink so bad. Any time I ride I can smell em on me for a while. But I do know several people that kill deer consistantly using them each time they go in the woods.
