I agree with everybody else #4 looks primo! Theres nothing like hunting an ecoline especially a pine thicket that borders a hardwood! 2 add icing on the cake having oaks dropping I don't think you could be in a better spot!

Very good advice from the fellows but if I were you I would be sure to take a wind indicator (feather on string is best) and place it out from you and tree and watch it consistently. You will discover that some of your locations will have a SSW wind while the wind direction for the day is NNW. High spots (ridges) will play the biggest part in this situation. Just a suggestion since the property is new to you. Best of luck.

#4 For sure with that wind direction. Be careful going in. You could get busted or you might run them out from their bedding area. Go in as quietly as possible.

Agreed to a point with BSK. However, truth be known mature bucks tend to take the route less traveled. In proximity to area 4 near the intersection north or south....if you can find a less faint horizontal trail...that leads to a food source...that would be my spot.

Would be hard for me to say for sure without knowing any of the terrain features. Id probably not be that concerned about the wind or the trails, deer could come from any direction with that much cover on all sides. At this time of the year Id just hunt on the down wind side of the acorn tree that appeared to have the most sign underneath it. Good Luck.

I would be east of #4. Get downwind of where those trails intersect and you should be golden.

Or a little further west of #1. Seems to look like it could be a natural funnel area... No trails over there at all????
that looks like your best option natural funnel

I'd hunt the fire lane during the rut.
