a buddy of mine has built a pretty sweet deer cooler in his shed
the problem is the window unit will not cool it. i am thinking the t-stat needs to be bypassed on the unit.
Anyone have experience with this?

Anyone have experience with this? going to be tough unless: the unit has an electronic temperature sensor instead of a mechanical one.
if he elects to go with a newer type such as LG brand, he can utilize the Cool-Bot system like I have.
I can get my cool room down to 35 degrees with a 15,000 BTU. 408 Cubic feet in less than 2hours from an 80F starting point.
the Cool Bot has a small peice of heat trace that piggy backs onto the temp sensor on the front coils and 'fools' the unit into operating at a much lower temperature. It's about $300 and works surprisingly extremely well with your appropriate type window unit and well insulated cool room

Well my version is not as snappy as that but...I have a old refridgerator laying on it's back with the old wire shelving across the bottom (This keeps the deer off the bottom.) I keep a small chest freezer in the cabin and keep 8 one gallon jugs of frozen water...(No ice melt off) I can chuck a deer in there and keep it cool for a few days. It's not a walk in cooler but it works!
