X2. Isn't that what it's all about, anyway?

As long as its dark, you can never be too early on your AM stand arrival time. I have arrived 3 hours before light myself when hunting extremely close to a bedding area.

The earliest I ever got in my stand was just after midnight. Have you ever noticed how times is all screwed up when you look at an alarm clock upside down in the dark? 11 PM becomes 5 AM. It is a long time from midnight to daylight when you are sitting in an old Baker.

Haha BW.

I've never enjoyed getting there more than 20 mins before first light. Sitting there in the dark just puts me back into sleep mode and then its hard to wake back up.

Just pokin' a bit of fun but in reality I really am heading to my stand at LBL at 3am tomorrow. I think I can beat some of the more mature bucks to their bedding areas and it will give me plenty of time to get there.

I'm trying to scout from my stand in hopes of seeing and hearing where deer move to and from in the earlier hours. I just love the outdoors at that time of the day (night) as well. \:\)

Am I crazy?
IMO,yes, your scent is always blowing somewhere, seems a little crazy to be putting out your scent, when you cant even see.JMO

I almost never head for my stand until I can see to shoot. I hunt my way in and out and have killed several deer both ways. The shorter time I sit there, the shorter time for my scent to pool around me.

Three years ago, I killed a doe as I was slipping in and killed a second doe as I was slipping out. I guess I had them coming and going \:\) Didn't see a thing out of my stand.
