Well I got reminded of a lesson I should have learned already. If you see a decent buck don't tell anyone about it. Had a good hunt Wed. afternoon. shot a doe, passed on a 4 pt and a spike and saw a decent 6 or 8 pt. Well I made a mistake and told one of my hunting buddies about it that night. We were e-mailing yesterday morning at work and I told him I was going to go back to that spot Friday afternoon. Never heard from him after that. then got a call from him last night that he killed "our" deer out of "our" tree.Lesson Learned.

Man that's rough! Alot of my buddies hunt my land... I have a sixteen pt irregular and what was a 14 pt last year... All of em know that those two are only to be taken by my family. Kinda a vendetta thing. Other than that they take shooters and I leave it alone. But if one of em knew I was after a certain deer and they went after it i would be pretty grumpy. I'd lay down some good ground rules with this guy for sure!

HAHA yeah about 3 years ago i had been seing a HUGE 8 point out of a stand right on the edge of a honeysuckle thicket. It was mid rut in Northern TN and I was in that stand about 30 mins before daylight. Him and a doe were bedded in the thicket behind me and stood up right at daylight and started to cross the field leading to a small coutry road. just as i was beading down on him a car pulls up and scares him he jumps the fence and crosses the road and the doe goes back into the thicket behind me. The car was my nephews best friend .. my dear nephew had told him I had been seeing that big buck in that field and he was on his way to hunt my stand. I told him he had just scared of the buck and that they had crossed the road. He walks over to the fence and looks. He says "hey he is still standing right there by the fence line" I guess he was waiting for that doe to come over. I got down and let that guy get in my stand and after I had been gone about 5 mins that buck crossed the road looking for that doe and the guy shot him. Yes I was being nice but I really didnt think that buck was coming back today after the car traffic and the talking and walking around .. lesson learned. I now tell noone where I see big deer.
Sorry it turned into a longer post than i meant it to.

Yea had it happen lots. If it bothers you be very quiet. Kinda like me and my best buddy when we return to our trucks and the other members ask what did you see - we look at each other and say 1 doe. lol

That stinks man......people just don't have any respect. There are 2 kinds of deer that will make a man turn on his buddies! One has big horns and the other has 2 legs!

Man that's sad. I had an area with a massive buck in it and made the mistake of telling my brother. He dogged that deer cleat to the next county....stinkin the area up as he hunted. Never again.
