Just for my own interest I am keeping a stat sheet using Excel this year.
My included stats (so far) are Hunt #, Date, property, stand location, deer seen, bucks seen, deer killed, bucks killed, weapon(s) used, and a general notes section.
I think it will be cool to quantify and track my hunting season. I know some may not like the idea of putting a season in to such a mathematical layout, but I know I'll enjoy it.
What do ya'll think?...Any other notable stats ya'll can think of that I might have overlooked?

If you really want to go nuts, Avg temperature--moon phase--general weather conditions--stomach contents--

TheRock-That would definitely be in depth. I might have to add temperature and maybe moon phase. I can guesstimate temp for m first eight hunts so far.

if your not keeping track of humidity & the barometric pressure 'start & end of hunt' plus temps your never going to enjoy the data you have collected,jmo,mike243

Barometric pressure is exactly correct...If I only have one thing to check before I hunt, thats it.

# KILL YEAR STATE COUNTY WMA LBS. SEX PTS
DATE GUN BOW SHOT R'CVRY WOUND TIME WETHER
KILL TAG#
I use these headings in my excel file. LBS. is dressed weight. I started this in 1981 and is is a little extra effort but as a hobby, GREAT enjoyment and stress relief. R'cvry is how far the deer ran after the shot. Wound is determined after autopsy.
It is AMAZING how much info and how many patterns emerge after almost 30 years.
I'll try and post a sample.

I'd add in barometric pressure. It something I am interested in as I feel it has an effect on movement but am unsure as to what that effect is. You could even upload it to google docs and have all hunting buddies add onto the same form to compile a larger sample size of data quicker. Hint hint...
