SHOT A NICE 8 POINT AT ROUND 930 OR SO THIS MORNING SHOT WAS A LITTLE HIGH AND BACK FOUND GOOD BLOOD TRAIL FOLLOWED IT FOR ABOUT TWO MILES FOUND WHERE HE BROKE MY ARROW THE BROADHEAD IS STILL IN HIM FOLLOWED TILL THE BLOOD TRAIL RAN OUT SEARCHED FOR ANOTHER COUPLE HUNDRED OF YARDS AND THE TRAIL RAN OUT ANY IDEAS ON WHAT I MIGHT HAVE HIT

Were you on the ground or in a tree? For instance was the arrow angling down? If the shot was back and maybe angling back, could have lodged in his hip? If you truly followed him for 2 miles he is very likely either going to be alive for a while or dead within yards of where you lost the trail.

ide say u him him high in the backstrap, tough call on finding him. leave him for a few hours then go back where u last found blood and start over

I was in a 15 ft tree stand 30 yd shot i know it hit him more mid section than his hip just wondering if it is more superficial than anything though

I was in a 15 ft tree stand 30 yd shot i know it hit him more mid section than his hip just wondering if it is more superficial than anything though
Mid section shot that was angling back and down, just a bit (from a low stand and 30 yards away) would end up in the hip! If you had hit just backstraps you would have had a blow out pass thru, as there's nothing up there to even slow an arrow down. If he's carrying the broadhead he's more likely to eventually die vs the head coming out. That being said they sometimes overcome some unbelievable stuff, only way we will ever know exactly where you hit is if you find him?
