Why can't the public not have a vote on the option to feed or not. You can call it baiting or whatever.. I'm sick of reading about distances, trail camera purposes ect. It could end alot of topics questions/topic here. Put it to the people and put it to bed.

If you put it to the public to vote on this, I'll bet you the non-hunting public will vote no to baiting. There isn't enough hunters to vote yes. So why waste the money to get this on the ballot

Why can't the public not have a vote on the option to feed or not. .
Oddly, that isn't a question, as you posted your opinion (no question mark ??). I'm not sure this type thing is a voting issue for the November election, but hey, what do I know?
Should we put up a vote to how many bucks can be killed or when seasons start, or why albino deer can't be killed?
That is why, as I understand, the TWRC is set up. Want to gripe about a hunting law, need to go there first. Otherwise, the law is what it is.
Does this answer your question?

It is a state law. It would have to be changed by the state legislature.

HUNTER0678 have you contacted anyone about this issue besides the people that read this forum?
I would suggest two things if you are in favor of baiting.
1) Educate yourself on how laws are created and enforced. 2) Do something about it.

Put it to vote with the people it affects.... people that buy a hunting license.

I don't believe a VOTE by "the people" is a matter that you want to get your feet dirty with. If you want it revised or changed completely you need to get a group together and vistit the law makers in Nashville. I could care less about baiting deer. If given the option to hunt over bait I would say it would be like everthing else... everyone will do it for a while because it's a new thing and after the new wears off it will die down. I don't like the fact that I could get a ticket when it's obviously out of my hands thou... ie.. on someone elses property or placed by someone else and I'm at the wrong place at the wrong time. If anything I would be up for a revised, CLEARLY writen law. With private land hunting getting smaller and public lands are all some of us have. If I happen to walk into an area opening morning and set down to hunt and get a ticket because someone else placed corn 1000 yards from me a week before how's that right? I know a warden can't watch every corn pile and catch the perp but, if a man is standing there and obviously didn't know about it don't give him a ticket.
As for the vote... ask the people of California (the one's that have to live with them) how they like lion hunting. It was voted on and the public voted NO to hunting with hounds. Ask the hunters of Oregon and Washington how they like not being able to run hounds on either bears, lions, or bobcats because the public voted on it and again it was voted a big NO. If you want to loose your rights then just get the nonhunting, misinformed, and/or misdirected public involved. Trappers, houndsmen and bear hunters (sitters, stalkers, or run with hounds) are on the front lines of the public. It's only a matter of time before they come after the rest of us. Next are bow hunters who (according to them) use a cruel, inhumane, barbaric, outdated method of hunting. One thing helping deer hunters is the big insurance companys who for the most part support the hunting of deer.
