After much deliberation last night we decided to skip the morning hunt since we were all so tired from the night before. So I woke up at 7:15 with the baby and hung out. About 8 am I looked out the window and there stands a sixpoint and a doe at about 60 yards from the deck.... Rushed out to grab the bow and sit on the deck to wait... Thinking the whole time "we screwed up!" they meanderd off and immediately I headed in the house. Low and behold I look out the window and there stands another!
"I'm getting the camos on"!
Got on stand at 9am. I'm thinking maybe this will be one of those awesome stories about only being on stand 15 minutes and dropping a deer... Hope so.
Five minutes in here come three does. I can't get them to stop... I'm drawn back for about an entire minute when I finally get to put the pins on one. MSSS! I was so shakeoe that I couldn't get her.
Lucky for me they didn't run far. About a moment later I was able to pull on a second one... Still shakie but it's way too cool of a hunt not to get one now... MISS!
Then the squirrels came out and the wind stopped.
Yuck! No more deer opportunities this morning. Back at the house my buddy walked in five minutes later to tell the story of his die jumping his arrow!
It's on this evening.
