1st Opening Day Deer (updated with pic)

I have kille a lot of deer in my 28 years of hunting. I have gotten up early and stayed out late. ( i have slept in and left before dark to) But the majority of deer hunters get so excited for opening day, they cant even sleep the night before. opening morning gets here and only a few get to kill a deer that morning. On the peak of their excitement. I was blessed enough to do that this year. We had 6 deer feed around us for about 45 minutes. 5 big does and this buck. After trying to get a shot on a doe for about 10 minutes and getting frustrated with the situation I turned and the buck had fed in to about 12 yds. Yeah i said 12. Never seen him. After a little staring competition he turned and gave me a shot at 14 yds. Piled up about 40 yds from where i shot him. MY 1ST OPENING DAY DEER. The best thing about the whole situation was I had a good friend of mine that offered to come film for me opening morning. We got the whole hunt on video. He did an amazing job. Thanks Will for giving up your opening day so you could film mine.

I see you subscribe to the "If it's brown, it's down," school of thought for early bow season, just like me... Nothing wrong with that, IMHO.

I'm gonna wait until next Monday when the weather cools a bit more. I butcher my own, so meat handling can get a little tricky for me when it's this warm, what with distance and lack of proper facilities.
