On my opening I don't hunt deer, just people, usually walk lines with one of my Black Guns, GW knows about it. About 8 am driving down ridge road along line find a climber, someone had been in it, there Tinks sent wick was laying on ground, they walked between to marked trees 10 yards apart. Took pictures, called GW, impounded the Lone Wolf Climber, take can have it back when the meet GW and get charged with tresspasing and hunting with permission

What exactly is a tactical 12 gauge?
generally, tactical shotguns have extended magazines and pistol grips.

Found Trespasser today. I had called neighbor Sat. to check if he knew something, he called back today, was one of his employees, who had shot a deer and was out of the stand when I found it. He had told the guy were not to go, but he passed painted trees and when up to sign, shot deer, but never found it. Told him if they wanted stand back they needed to meet GW, said didn't think he will call GW.

I never have understood why the term tactical is used. It seems rather silly to me. It's akin to the stupid term "assault weapon". If I so choose, I can assault some one with a sling shot or a meager single shot 22. Tactical would refer to a pre-planned method as tactics are methods. These high speed terms used by cops and the military are bantered about by them and like-minded folks to sound ultra-official.

Tactical as a description makes complete sense to me. I have a Mossberg 500 outfitted for turkey hunting. A tactical version of the same shotgun would be outfitted with a pistol grip, picatinny rail, folding stock, tactical choke tube (for blowing out door hinges), cartridge shell holder and potentially a flash light. If you couldn't call that the "tactical" version, then how would you distinguish from your turkey gun.
Tactical as a designation makes sense because is designates the weapon for a specific use as does the term "assault rife" as opposed to "battle rifle" (i.e. M1 Garand) or a "hunting rife."
And when there is a bump in the night, I don't reach for my turkey gun. Yes, I could assault someone or defend myself against someone with a turkey gun and use the same ammo as a tactical shotgun, but you have less rounds, a longer barrel to negotiate and are not set up for night time shooting.
Besides, a "tactical" weapon is 10x more intimidating, which for the purposes of shaking down potential trespassers, is much more suitable for the task. In a confrontation, I'll take a "Assault Weapon", "tactical" shotgun" or "semi auto handgun" any day of the week over a bolt action hunting rifle, 36 inch duck shotgun with 3 rd capacity, or a single shot, centerfire handgun. To each is on, though.
