Thinking about meat, taking my shot, my wife getting a deer, my son getting a deer, placement, my bow.... All the while making sure everything is right I had almost forgotten how awesome it is to just watch the woods come to life! Really hope to see something this morning. Anyone having any luck yet? Hope so!

We spooked some this morning. They were right under us before we knew it.

Got in the stand about 6 and let the sun come up and let the woods come to life. Didn't see anything for the first 2 1/2 hours then the wind shifted. Was about to get down and had a squirrel come down the tree i was on and of course i jerked my head to look up and then i heard a deer blowing and running. Did not see it, but that is the way it goes sometimes. There are about 60,000,000 acorns on the ground.

had a long morning! first, i walked about 50 yards past my stand because i left my light in the truck. after finally climbing into the stand i dropped my hat. after 10 minutes of quiet, my cell phone alarm (which hasnt gone off in over a month) randomly goes off. took forever to get it out of my pocket, and when i did i couldnt get it to turn off. didn't see anything, and this could because i had three coyotes run under the tree throughout the morning. shot at the last one and missed at about 60 yds. hopefully this afternoon will be a little better...

Got into stand exactly when I wanted to at 6:30 with everything set up. At 6:45 , I decided I didn't like where I had my pack hanging, so I moved it over to the other side of the stand. Had a buck snort at me, scare the crap outta me and trot off into the unknown. Felt like Ace Ventura with all the birds hanging around me. Got a text at 10 that there were 2 does in my backyard. Got down at 11. Hunting a small food plot this afternoon. The cold front is coming!

Got into the stand at 6. Wasnt expecting to see much since it has been a full moon for a week. About 7 i look around and see two nice older big bodied bucks ( big 7 and 8) and a doe that hadnt completely lost her summer coat! the doe had me on point! never took her eyes off of me til the bucks were in some brush out of range!

Man that's funny. I got bombarded with acorns in my stand this afternoon. Those little suckers can hurt. I may be the fool, but I believe you see bigger bucks during the day on the full moon.
