Use to not carry one because I knew the woods. Until I got turned around one night going back to pick up a doe. Was busy thinking about all the things I needed to do and got turned around in some tree tops. Never again. One day will get a GPS but even then will still carry a compass for a back up.

I have (it made two trips to Iraq with me) and still use it when hunting new areas. It has saved my butt once at Catoosa!
