For the early season I try to pack as light as possible. I enjoy doing an inventory several times of what I NEED vs all the gadgets. I am removing the grunt tube and bleat can until the rut. Anybody going to drop the calls for the early season?

I would keep a grunt handy. It may not be effective to use it when you haven't seen a deer, but when you do and it is going away from you I have had them come back to check it out when i grunted at them.

I keep my grunt call, the can, in my pack. But durning archery season a fawn bleat call stays in my pocket where I can get to it easily. My favorite call during archery season.

always keep my grunt call. I have had good success with calming spooked deer down with the call. Even had a doe I missed with the bow run off about 100 yards and stop. Started hitting the call and she seemed to calm down and started feeding back my way.

Yeah...my bleat and grunt go where I go. You never when when you might need to talk a little. Think about if you didn't have it and needed it...all for a few ounces.

They stay. Im more likely to leave it out when i need it. Im not walkking that far and I can carry those ounces without much effort.
