Okay, so my husband and I got 459 photos on our Wildgame IR-4 in a week and a half. A lot of does and babies, probably 5-6 bucks that are yearlings or two years old and one monster buck 130 class or better. My husband and I ate going back and forth in whether to bow hunt him and take a chance on him smelling us and running us off, bow hunting the other deer in the area and again chance spookibg him, or just avoiding that area all together until the rut to ensure an honest chance at him. He is coming in about 30 mins before the end of legal shooting hours

You better kill him while you have him pinned down. I would much rather kill him with a bow myself as well!

No question, hunt him with a bow and hunt him hard. By the time the rut rolls around, it is no telling where he is going to be.

I have gotten several pictures of an awesome upper 150's or lower 160's ten point, my plan for him is to hunt a good distance from his bedding area which I found 2 years ago(This will make my 3rd year hunting this buck). Im going to hunt feeding areas and funnels that lead or are around his bedding area. Will I spook him? I Dont Know! But im going to give him everything I have.

That's what I am thinking! We are on a sizeable lease with 30 other people and I know the first one that sees him is going to take him. I want that to be us. He is awesome and would be the biggest either of us have harvested, not to mention he would make a huge mess of sausage and stew meat :-) ill post pics as soon as possible.

Hunt him hard and give him what you have. Just make sure to hunt the wind the best you can. The reason I say all of this is because with 30 others hunting on the land and you wanting to harvest him just give it what you have or dont its solely up to you guys.

I agree with Mossy. the rut could cause him to shift ranges. i would get on him now and just watch the wind. if he is comiing out 30 minutes before dark, then you should have a pretty good idea of where he is gonna be. Again just watch the wind and your movement int he stand and you should be fine.

What do you think would happen if you spook him?
I see this question asked a lot and I always wonder how anyone would expect to kill a deer if they don't hunt him. I also always wonder what anyone thinks spooking a does. What does it make the deer do? If you wait for the rut, odds are good he will be 1/2 mile away. If the food source changes, he could still be 1/2 mile away. If you spook him, he may not go 100 yards.
You went in and hung camera, right? How do you know that didn't spook him? Then you checked the camera, right? How do you know that didn't spook him. You are on a lease with 30 other hunters. How do you know one of them didn't spook him?
The very best chance you will have to kill that buck is the first time you hunt him and the sooner you hunt him, before he changes his range for any one of a variety of reasons, the better your chance at killing him.
So you spook him. So what? You figure he will just vanish? Lets examine the scenario and see what we come up with.
1- If you shoot at him and miss, he may not come back by that stand. That is a possibilty. Now what else can happen?

I would avoid that site this weekend, but that is just me. Hunting around full moons changes alot of things and I'd hunt a seperate location until daytime activity picks up.
