or didn't get away. What's the biggest buck you've ever saw while hunting?
Kentucky 2006 - took a different route to my stand last day of the first muzzleloader season. Jumped the buck I was hunting, was able to get him in the scope but he never stopped for a shot. Mid 140's 8 point.
Tennessee December 4, 2009 - Close encounter with a 3 1/2 year old but never got close enough for a bow shot. Across the field, 200+ yards away, I saw another buck. Couldn't identify him through the rangefinder, but he had long 2' and 3's. Can't say for sure but he looked like flyer, a buck the neighbor killed grossing 151".
Several encounters over the years with 130+. Some of those weren't as lucky as others!

Honestly, I killed the biggest buck I have ever seen while hunting last year. Prior to this though, I had a few encounters with 150 class deer but never connected. One of them in particular was a 12 point that I missed with my bow. That happened almost 10 years ago and it still makes me sick.

Oh this is a sore subject. If you only knew how many chances i have blown over the years at some super bucks, makes me sick to think about some of them! Live and learn I guess, thats how you get better at what you do! As for size I cant say for sure on all of them, but a high 60's maybe 170 right here in the mtns of east TN comes sorely to my mind pretty often! If I had it to do over I feel sure I could kill him now, but I just didnt THINK at the time!

I know what you mean. I have seen and missed 2 monster (6x6)&(4x4) in the past that easily scored 170 and 155. The buck I have dozens of pics of is a 10 point that I would say scores around 160's.

Well I lost this particular buck. Sad. It was a cold snow/rain mixed day in New Hampshire, mid November and we had been out all day. Soaked and cold my father and I stopped at one more little spot for a quick 10 min drive. On the way home. There was a little clearing 60 yrds long I stood in with a river beyond it. Moments after getting there a HUGE buck came across...head straight out. Dark grey, neck as big as my waist minimum. Of 5.5 yrs...with some big bone. I pulled up and shot and he went to his belly and then lunged over the bank. I only shot once knowing I hit hin good. What I didn't know was the river was at the bottom and at flood level. we looked for the whole next day, I was gut wrenched. Some friends were on the train tracks a few days later on 4 wheelers and found him in a log jam. They said it was the biggest ten they had ever seen. We rushed there the next day and his head was gone. He was big... id say he would have dressed at 260+ pounds. I replay that all the time.

Use to deer hunt across the street from "Flower's Processing". Let a mature 8 walk the last day of gun season. Opening morning of bow the next year and as I drew back my bow on him, had a doe behind me, bust me. Next time that deer was seen was during rifle when the neighbor killed it. Scored between 140-150.

the only deer that comes to mind that was big that got away was a big 10 that I saw on a farm that i had permission to hunt a few years back. he was not in bow range and i had not picked up the ML yet so i was underarmed (hunting with a bow during ML). the deer was big bodied and his fur was very dark. when i first saw him he had his head down and i thought a young cow had got out. then he lifted his head up and promptly walked behind some thick brush, but not before i got a good look at him. I don't do the scoring thing to often, but i would say 130+, maybe more.

I've been extremely lucky. All of the best bucks I've ever seen while hunting ended up going home with me.
