I have been told by a few people that deer will not really hit the acorns untill after the first frost. It is supposed to make them sweeter or something like that. I have never really payed any attention untill this year. We have acorns falling every where but the deer are not eating them up. Just got me wondering if there is any truth in that saying? Anyone have any ideas?

Ditto what PH said. Deer are eating the acorns, but as you stated, they are falling everywhere and the deer don't have to move far to eat them.

Absolutely not! They will eat them as soon as they can get a gum on them!

Yup. They are eaten year round. But right now there's an abundance.

THEYVE BEEN EATING THEM UP HERE BUT WE HAVE NO MAJOR AGRICULTURAL FIELDS TO SPEAK OF WITHIN 50 MILES SO THAT COULD BE THE REASON
