Might be a Pin Oak, I can't tell without seeing the bark. Was the bark smooth?

Not a chinquipin....Looks like a Red. I like to see the bark as well though. I know the reds are loaded this year where we are

A type of red. Id like to see bark and the crown structure as well for a positive ID on exactly which red but looking at the leaf I would say Scarlet oak. Now I think RKenney may be right. Lets see the tree, bark and crown shot. If those in the back ground are the same as the one in the pic then definitely Pin Oak (Quercus Palustris) Id say.

I'm guessing a landscaping pin oak, wich by the way, can produce
alot of acorns. I have a few around my house and the deer eat
the mess out of these tree's acorns.

Thats what I was going to suggest. I have one here that is loaded as well...the leaves are very narrow on it..I will see bout a pic today if i get a chance..
