Gentlemen, I've been trying to decide where to go this season, as far as an out of state hunt and work just isn't letting me get the time to scout, so I'm thinking about somewhere a little closer to home. I've been to Pennyrile a long time ago to scout but I've never hunted it. If anybody has been there, is it worth it? Does the place get a lot of attention since that big buck was killed. If I go, it would be the week prior to the gun hunt.

It still has a lot of Ice damage from the big ice storm. I turkey hunted it this spring and it was tough going to a turkey without climbing all over downed trees. If you go I hope you have good luck.

Yes it is worth the effort,but like anything or anywhere else it takes a little time to find a good spot not over run.I will look for my map and pm you..

Hunted it a couple times. Pressure seemed pretty light during early bow season. Haven't been back since the ice storm, but based on the damage that I've seen in southern Illinois caused by the same storm, I'd heed harley's warning. Very tough getting around in the woods and very few acorns due to the extensive damage to oaks.
