I would assume price would depend on time and distance flown etc. The ones I had done, (in IL), cost me about $300 and worth every penney. Not only saved me boot leather and time but when I had them blown up and marked all the stand locations with pins, I could show the clients exactly where they would be hunting and my thinking on placing a stand there. BTW- That was several years ago before gas went sky high.

I work and deal with cartographers, GIS/Mapping gurus, and aerial photography firms pretty regular. The price has went down for us since everything went digital.

Price depends on if you want vertical or obliques and how far I have to fly to cover what you need. There is a lot of planning involved too, I don't want to photograph the wrong area, trees look alike from above.

The photos would need to be georeferenced to do that. Plus the photos would have to have very limited lens distortion or be rubber-sheeted to remove distortion.

To do topo can be done, but the cost may make it not worth it.
Here are a couple of pictures of Woods Res.

Just the fact that the resolution is so much better would be a big help. And I don't think one needs to over lap topo. Just have a topo sitting there beside it when your looking at the photo it's not too hard to figure out. IMO Great Pics.
