I missed the opener last year becuase I almost lost my left eye in a bunjee stap accident while loading the dang truck to go.

I generally skip either the first weekend or the second weekend mostly because of how hot it can be. I let the weather decide.
I'd just watch the weather. It may not cooperate anyway. If the Hi temp is much over the low 80's I stay home. If it rains I'll be there though.

Call me backwoods but I would never miss a hunt to go run... Heck the only time I do run is to reposition quickly on a herd lol.

I went today to move my camera and put new batteries in it. I usually like to ride an ATV or something to the exact tree I'm gonna put it but recently I've had a problem with that. The other hunters on the farm are following my tracks to find my camera b/c I won't tell them where I'm getting my photos. $\:D$ So today I decided to walk in to a spot I thought a big deer was bedding in. I was getting pics of him in the field below the area and figured this was probably exactly where he beds. I was fooling with the camera and stepped on a stick. I then heard something move. I looked up and the deer had stood up just 20 yards from me. He was looking the other way and man I could have thumped him!!!! I'm still not sure if I would shoot this particular deer. I think he is 4.5 and about 140ish. I really want my mom to shoot him but man I got fired up being that close to a big buck today.

I still have no idea what redneck sport I'm gonna go with that weekend! $\:D$
