Last fri. while beatin the bush looking for sign I was shot at by a deranged dove hunter! I was walkin along the south edge of the field, as close to the woods as I could get, when 3 shots rang out and pellets fell upon the trees behind me. Is it really that bad when we cant even share public land... especially over a [censored] dove? I looked for the hunter for a while to no avail, probably a good thing. Anyways, I guess I want to say good luck, becareful out there, and embrace a fellow hunter...DONT SHOOT AT THEM!!!!!

Did the pellets rain down? If so, you weren't in any danger. If you shoot in the air, the pellets have to come down somewhere. If they came in a straight line, that's a different story.

Did you ever think, if you couldn't see them, they couldn't see you.

Sounds to me like you got rained on, and not shot at. I guess if folks haven't dove hunted much then they don't know that it happens. Oh like mike I thought it was closed as well.

He could have been squirrel hunting, but come on lets face it, Forks of the River is nothing more than tragic accident waiting to happen. You would be safer wearing a white pointy hood in South los angeles than you are in Forks of the river. I've been there 2 or 3 times and after watching everybody in the field shoot at any and everything that moves/flies, I swore I would never go back, and I havent.

If thats the only place you have to hunt, so be it, but they don't make enough orange for me to hunt there. Idiot capitol of East Tenn.
