The smell of decomposing leaves on cool crisp mornings definitely gets me in gear!

At one time I started to write a "recipe" book (actually sort of a diary) on the flavors (smells) of different types of hunting at different times of the season (pines after rainfall, hardwood ridges, musky bottoms, persimmon thickets, freshly turned soil, etc.

I guess that nip in the air along with the smells and anticipation of the hunt triggers a response to the brain, that makes you want to "go".

I swear I can smell a frosty morning. I doubt frost itself has a smell, but something about a frosty morning smells different.
