Alright guys, the wife has given me the okay to buy some new camo. I have always liked these two suits (for Poser). I know some of you guys have got some of this. Tell me what you think and which one is better. Now I am full timbe bow and hardly ever use a gun, so that adds into the equation. and if you guys know of anywhere I can get some for a good price, or even some used ones let me know that also. I appreciate all the help I can get, and cant wait to find out which one is better!

Check the Clearance section (web page) of Bass Pro and Cabela's...

You will see some post that will reply: stuff doesn't work and so on.... I notice alot of pros use the stuff and it smell like the scent killer products that hunters spray on their clothes... I know these pros get paid to wear it but most of them seem to use it. I use the stuff and if it gives me a mental edge, than that's all that matters.... Good luck.

I have been eyeing the Timber Fleece set for a while. but Dave Ramsey says I already have way too much camo!

I have a scentblocker dream season suit and i love it! i also have a gamehide Mathews Lost Camo Suppressor set for the fall when the foliage really starts to fall and disappear and it looks killer late fall.

whether the carbon protection works or not doesn't have anything to do with why i got my scentblocker suit. i wear a Medium and its really hard to find camo that fits me right. Scentblocker just happens to be what fits best for me. plus it's pretty good quality stuff. EXCEPT the boots! NEVER buy those expensive Scentblocker boots! they are pure crap!

I know what you mean it looks like it would be perfect for us here. I have some older duxback pants and a matching jacket..they are nice, but too noisey and kindly uncomfortable. I really could care less about the scent protection because I've always done fine without it, but the timberfleece just looks comfortable. I'm thinking about getting it in treestand camo just not sure because AP you just can't beat!

I have the full season set in mossy oak treestand. I personally really like it. Even during cold times i usually just wear one layer under it. I know people will say it doesnt work, but wearing carbon suits cant hurt your chances! IMO

This past weekend, I had to hit the woods to prep 3 setups on public land. Granted, I do almost all of my scouting in the Spring, treestand pruning in the early summer with some final round in early August. It is not my style to venture into the woods in Sept, but his location is 3 hours from home and I happened to be driving through after dove hunting.

Back in turkey season, I found some prime real estate on a piece of public land. Besides a old, rotten homemade stand (presumably from a time of private ownership), this particular area is tucked away and untouched, though the WMA gets massive pressure in the Fall.

As is my practice, I maintain scent control discipline when going into the deer woods starting in May. When we get into late July/ August, I practice absolute scent control.

The other day, I was wearing full Scent Lok Savannah complete with base layers and head cover, went in in the middle of the day and tried to be as quiet as possible. I was making the final stalk to my potential setup, I stepped on a stick and 5 does and 3 fawns simultaneously stood up 30 yards away and directly down wind. Its always amazing how they materialize out of nowhere and can be virtually invisible when bedded down.

Anyway, they stood up but were only mildly spooked. I stood stone still and watched the 8 deer look around for danger, though none of them were especially nervous. Not one of the 8 deer ever looked directly at me. None of them blew and, after a minute or two, they casually made their way 50 yards away and disappeared into a thicket. I feel confident that I got in and out of there without my presence being noticed.

8 deer, 5 of them pressured does with fawns, downwind at 30 yards and I got away without a white tail in the air or a blow. I'm not claiming that I could get away with it again, nor do I ever intentionally hunt downwind. I am certain, however, that had I been any less in control of my scent, I would have been busted.

Personally, I am a proponent of absolute scent control. I respect people who don't subscribe to these practices, however, many of the naysayers, from my observations, are simply naysaying out of laziness, i.e. they are unwilling to change their ways and therefore write this philosophy off as a way to feel good about their laziness.

Great Story Poser, and I believe it has to help. I have always had good luck, even without having expensive scent lok/scent blocker stuff because of the practices I do. I am almost A.D.D. about some of it. I wash my cloths religously in scent control stuff, take showers religously with scent control stuff (all season long..I even shave with the soap..lol), wear rubber boots, spray down religously and usually wear just my Rocky Scent IQ compression suit all the way to my stand and then get dressed. I know that might sound stupid, and probably a little much, but it seems to work. But I have thought, if I do purchase on of these scent-lok suits, maybe it would give me a little more scent control and be alot more comfortalbe! I do agree, standing still works everytime.
Off subject story, I decided to just pick a spot that my uncle was hunting from time to time after a HUGE buck he had been after for at least 3 years. Well, didnt know where his stand was, so I picked a big nice Oak and propped up against it. I made a few grunts and just relaxed. I heard some leaves and out popped 4 does about 50 yards away. Just out of nowhere and two headed right at me. Well I just sat as still as possible until she got about 20 yards from me, and then I put my head down a bit so we wouldnt make eye contact..lol. well she was stomping and blowing. Finally at about 10 yards in front of me, she started running at me and then darting right as she got to me...scary as heck, but I didnt move an inch. She did this about 5 times and I guess after I didnt budge she just left me alone and went about her business on into the field. Sighing of relief, I look up and about 50 yards past where I first spotted them walked out the big deer my uncle has been after. I raised the 30-06 up and first thing hit the scope was his G2 which was about 15-16 inches long, so buck fever hit and I couldnt stay still. By this time, he was about 150 yards away and I just wasnt comfortable with the shot. so I passed it up. He killed it two days later, ended up scoring 158 5/8. Part of me wishes I would have pulled the trigger, but dad and I shot the gun about two weeks later and it was shooting 4 inches high..so maybe my intuition was right.
