I guess I have mixed emotions about this topic, both good and bad. I waited til this morning to go to my Place in Ky. I was pumped. Got outa the truck at 4:55 am and it was 46 degrees. It was awesome. At 630 i look up and theres a doe and 2 fawns. then after a bit they leave then a solo doe comes in and I decide to take her, but she busts me , Go figure at 30ft. Oh well. I get down and decide to check my cam thats been in place over corn for a week. I have various pics of does coons fawns a 4 pt and a Damned horse, Clydesdale BUTWIPER sized thorobred. on sd card. I was so dissappointed. My point is the trail cam has me convinced i was waisting my time. I am wondering if somehow the quest for large antlers has made me lose sight!Cameras are a tool, both motivational and demotivational! I came home and im pissed about the horse!

Birddog is right. Bucks patterns and core areas will change over the next few weeks. You may have a good buck or two right in your area soon. Also, those big bucks sometimes have a way of avoiding cameras. I have had 1000's of pictures over the course of several weeks. Then, catch a big buck in the background of a pic of other deer....letting me know he is indeed around.

one of the reasons i believe we dont get a lot pics of big bucks in the early season is our lease boarders about a 200 acre corn field. i dont suspect those really big smart bucks leave that field very much or at all until its cut.
