Has anybody hunted The Duck River Bottoms unit of the TN N.W.R.?I got drawn for a quota hunt but never hunted it before.Any info would be welcome.I've hunted The Big Sandy unit before but was not drawn for that area. THANKS Gerald in Tn

With the great acorn crop the area is going to experience, don't hut the agricultural bottoms themselves, hunt the hardwoods adjoining the bottoms.

Never hunted the Refuge itself, but my personal property borders it, on the east side of the Duck River just before it meets KY Lake.

Have hunted the islands, as well as all other parts for years. I hunt the tie yard area around I-40, and hunt the islands. Usually see several deer a morning, but mostly average bucks. The better deer seem to be in the big bottoms area, or at least thats where I've seen them. Good luck

If you hunt there, just make sure you know the actual Refuge boundaries. 90% of Beech Creek is private land.

If you hunt there, just make sure you know the actual Refuge boundaries. 90% of Beech Creek is private land.

most of the land due south of there is private also
