Anybody got any experience hunting for anything here. I might check it out but it would be good to have a starting point.

I have hunted there in the past and what advice that I could give you is to wait untill mzldr season is past. There will be a ton of people on there before that. If you go down out of La Grange, park at the first parking spot on the left before you cross the bridge. If you follow the river to the east for about a half a mile you will run into some good hunting. I have taken 2 P&Y bucks in that location. If you do go early bow season, wait till about 8:30-9:00am to get in your stand. The deer are used to vehical sounds and don't usually move good till the midday hours. I don't hunt anymore there because I can't walk that far with a climber anymore but it is great if you can make it happen!

Print the map of the WMA off the TWRA website. Stay away from the property lines on the left side of Beasly in the park. Land owner rides his 4 wheeler down the line early in the morning looking for trespassers.closer to the road you hunt the more likley you will be walked up on by other hunter.Deer do move later in the morning so stay until 11 or so in the early season.like 1 bow said that dirt road on the left is a good spot. plenty of woods to hunt. Bring snake boots and thermacell if your hunting near the river. Saw a huge cotton mouth Yesterday out there. Good luck .

What about during gun season? With it being bow only, I bet there are not many hunters at all during the rut. Great opportunity for a die hard bow hunter who can leave gun hunting to others
