I began seeing more deer when I learned how to stalk, i.e. walk a few feet, stop, and survey the entire woods around me. I saw even MORE deer when I learned to plan for more than one route to any given location determined by the wind. I began KILLING deer when I learned to take risks, sometimes believing in my gut instinct, and moving to a new location in the middle of a hunt - spotting and stalking my way there with great attention to the wind.

That's something I plan on trying this season--more walking and stalking.

One of my favorite ways to hunt after or during a rain if I think I have a buck pegged....

Yep i have gotten to where i can cover ground and do it quietly. I have even taught my wife to do it prettu good but i have some buddies who i dont even like to be around in the woods. They sound like bulldozers.

never tried it myself . Have seen several hunters do it though. I usually see them about 10 minutes after all the deer had come running past me. However like MRK stated just after a rain is a good time to slip around. Seen a lot of deer walking to my stand just after the rain stops.

the biggest problem is folks get into a rush, you must move slower than what your after & pause longer.i have seen deer set still for over 10 minutes listening & watching a area.killed more of the horny bucks during the rut \:\) mike243

I like to do it after a rain on private land, but when i'm on public, I try to refrain.
