What effect do you think the extremely dry conditions
we have had will have on deer hunting this fall? Good,
bad, none...? have these conditions cause you to rethink
your hunting strategy, location of stands, types of terrain
to hunt etc.?

Have a great one,

It is terribly dry around here . We are 9 inches below normal for the year and seems like a month or more since rain and one chance out of the next 10 days . I've got about 5 acres of plots to put in but to dry . I've seen some soft mast , persimmons and muscadines but the only hard mast I see is chestnut oaks . Hope I'm wrong about the whites and reds . I sure would like to see the remnants of one of those hurricanes come through . To anwser your question if I was hunting tomorrow I'd be hunting around the muscadines or the spring . We'll be alright come hunting season .

Although some areas have gotten much less rainfall than others we are not in any drought situation. The deer will do just fine IMO.

Middle and West TN are on par for the wettest year ever on record.

That little shower we had back in early May probably bumped up the total a little. Seems like I remember a weatherman saying that we got three months' worth of rain in 24 hours, or something like that...

I wonder how our total would look without that extraordinary event.
