Just got an email from an old friend and former guiding partner in IL. Seems his 8-yr old grandson just discovered a new deer attractant that is D-Y-N-O-M-I-T-E.
Kid was eating Tropical Punch Koolaide from the package, yes, eating, not drinking, (lick youtr finger, stick it in, lick it again.) Spilled the package on the ground under his tire swing. That was yesterday afternoon.
This morning, there was a hole a foot deep and deer scat everywhere.
Take it for what it is worth. Would it be baiting? I have no idea.

I'm not going to bite but I have also heard deer love jelly beans and mint Tic-tacs...

I do believe this has been discussed before and Koolaid was indeed a food product and therefore ilegal.

I believe it. Im heard deer will lick areas where you have sprayed strawberry soda, them coming and eatting brown sugar, and a variety of other things. I have soaked corn in the strawberry soda and they crushed it...

One of my brothers-in-law had a doe nearly climb up in the stand with him when she caught a wiff of the banana he was eat at the time. He now thinks bananas are the greatest deer attractant going!

one of the best "licks" i've ever seen was using brown sugar and water. the tree stump was as smooth as glass.

I've heard that deer like marijuana. But I think its only legal to use in California for hunting purposes.
