i have a new place to hunt that is on the side of the mountain with river bottoms. both, the side of the mountain and river bottom have really good sign of deer just wondering witch would be better for early bow.. i was thinking river bottom because of how hot it has been and the deer going to water....where do you think?

Depending on morning or night for the stand. Always remember the thermal currents that carry scent. Down in the am, up in the pm.Where is the food? Bedding in the area in proportion to the bottom? Travel Routes? You have alot to go by other than sign.

It is but if there is a front moving through you may not have any thermals.
Have you google earthed it yet? You need a whole lot more information than guessing to hunt low in early season and then move up as the season goes on. Id get in there this week and walk the whole place taking notes on food sources, topography, ect on a map I printed out from google earth. If not then your really just going in blind. IMO
