Once you use a Tree Saddle, you'll never go back to conventional stands. seriously????
-It weighs 3 pounds -not bulky nor cumbersome -360 degree shooting radius (no other stand does this and this characteristic alone makes it superior to all other tree stands) -Quiet (no creaky metal) -Built in safety belt (conventional stands require a stand and a safety belt/2 pieces of hardware as opposed to the Tree Saddle being a inclusive 1 piece) -No stand left in the tree to be stolen -Versatile: can climb past limbs, hunt out of trees too big or too small for conventional lock-ons or climbers. -You hunt from behind the tree instead of in front of it, providing you with significant amount of cover. -Safe (never detached from the tree) -Comfortable -Costs $200, a one time fee for infinite set ups since you carry it around with you.
(I sound like Al Paccino in Donnie Brasco: "Forget about it... The Tree Saddle has got more speed, more power, more leg room for your legs...")
Anyway, your retort on behalf of conventional stands, sir?

Winchester,
Even when I've hunted someone else's land and they put me in one of their ladder stands, I bring a few screw in steps and my Tree Saddle and climb above their ladder platform.

I believe you, its all in what you get used to I guess. Like I said I use one when needed, but I prefer a small loc on with a padded seat myself.

Especially if it is a little stand made for gun. I rather slip in behind the tree and have better movement with my bow.
