Two part question:

1- For about 10 days I have been watching a big, mature doe with four fawns. Three of the fawns are mirror images, the fourth is slightly larger, I assume male. Question. Quadruplets or adoption? I know it can happen but I have never seen it. Seen lots of triplets, never quads. Your thoughts?

2- Those deer along with a few more are wearing some ornamental out. I can't find out what it is. I have ruled out any of the yews. I'll try and get a picture of it. Grows about 8-ft tall and very bushy. Has red flowers but they have eaten every leaf as high as they can reach standing on back legs. Any ideas? They pass up both the corn lady and the corn man for these bushes.

Addendum #1

Was telling my wife about the bushes. She gave me her "Oh you dummy, look." Said, "We use to have two of those bushes. Don't you remember me complaining about the deer eating them a few years ago? It was the same year they ate all you cantalopes."

Well, it was the coyotes that ate the melons but once I determined she had no idea what kind of shrub they are, I dropped the whole thing as I could see no profit in continuing the discussion.

My opinion, adoption with the fawns.

I would need to see a picture of the shrub. My local deer sure eat the heck out of my roses!

Nope, not azalea. I grew up planting azaleas. These get up to 8-ft. high.

I friend told me his philosophy regarding marital relations. He said you can be right or you can be happy. Wise man.

It isn't any of the common shrubs, I know most of them...I think. Has blooms all year long. Heck, for all I know, dang thing may be artificial. Whatever it is, deerasoris love the leaves.
