I have been hunting in TN for over 20 years now and hunting has improved a 100% over those yrs.... I have hunted in E. TN the mojority of the time and I can remember when you had to wait for them to open up the gates at Chuck Swan WMA in the morning before you could enter and hunt :)....

I remember all the effort they went through to trap and restock many deer. Funny thing was, way back when, most of the deer were in east Tennessee. I remember some saying that middle and west Tennessee didn't have the habitat to support too many deer.
I guess "they" were wrong....weren't they.
By the way, "they" were not with the Tennessee Game And Fish Commission.

Back when I started playing with the first trail-cams (early '90s), getting a 2 1/2 year-old buck on film was a real treat. A 3 1/2 year-old buck was unheard of. They simply didn't exist. Now it isn't whether I will get a mature buck on film, but how many. What a difference!
Thank you TWRA!!!

What was the wardens name with the handlebar mustache? I spent hours talking with him next to that warm stove at the checking station I can remember the boyscouts sitting up at the gate selling coffee and donuts We all bought several cups ,I guess there were 4or5 of us . Well we had to pee after awhile, someone said heck just go in front of the truck we are all men. A few minutes later a couple women roll out of the truck in front of us.I know they seen us one of the women give us a "I am not impressed look"
Oh yea thank you TWRA

My uncle worked at the little stand there selling biscuits and coffee for a long time. I think the game wardens name was Bledsoe or something like that.
I agree TWRA has done a great job in the years since I started hunting!

His name was Leon Harvey. he was truly one of a kind. I can remember a hundred different Leonisms, but you can't post them here. Phil Beldsoe was the area manager, but Leon was the character everyone remembers.
