my first introdiction to deer cane was back in the 80's.

a member on the club that i was in at that time put some out on bare ground and within a month, the deer had worn a path to it that looked like a cow path and had dug a hole in the ground a foot deep and at least three feet wide....

by the following season, the hole was huge. deer could actually lay down in it.

maybe back then, this stuff was new and few people had any out so all the deer were coming to this spot......but, I still remember him showing me the hole in the ground....I was amazed....but, back then, most anything amazed me.....lol.

I havent had great luck with cane, my new trophy rock is amazing.I was surprised at how fast it was hit. i have alot of pics over it.
As for buck jam it is GREAT! If you feed any sort of corn or nuggets you can pour it on it and let it carmelize on it. It draws game in fast.Sweet corn buck jam smells great and you can smell it from afar.

I tried using Buck Jam around a trail camera and had great results. Every deer that passed thru stopped for a sample. Using it on corn sounds like a great idea too- for cameras only.

My wife used buck jam. Of course being a woman she had her own way of putting it out. She put it in front of her stand and then smeared some on the stand itself. A spike came in and got to lickin it off the ground and then came and licked it off her stand. she shot the video of it. It's quite funny to watch the little guy realize what's sitting on top of him. Of course she didn't shoot him with anything but a camera.

I used cane for about 4 yrs and could never tell they touched it. Just put out some Acorn Rage and have got some decent pics. The bobcat, bear and possums even tried it.
