I got these pics today, just a couple of questions. What's your thoughts on this deer if these pics were on your trail cam? How old is he? Rough score? Is he a mature buck? How about the smaller one, would you shoot him?

That deer is from what I can tell 3.5 years old or older, and appears to be around 130". It is a little hard to tell from those pics, and with him still in velvet. But he is mature, and I would kill him given the chance.

I think I'd let the younger buck walk. He will look like the big buck next year.

Straight back but good belly and hind quarters. Legs don't seem to be too lanky. Age I would think 3.5-4.5. Score, he has excellent tine length in both G2 and G3's. Looks like at least 11 inch G2s. Since he is an 8 point, I would say he would be at 135-140. Terrific buck. Good luck on getting him.

MATURE 3.5 plus-shooter...(but this deer will put on HUGE amounts of antler next year if he lives, of course with age comes VERY difficult hunting)

based on his ears, I'll guess...
Average-above average mass
lets say:
H-1 = 4 inches
H-2 = 3 inches
H-3 = 2 inches
H-4 = 1 inch
5 inch G-1 (brows)
10 inch G-2
8 inch G-3
20 inch main beams
20 inch spread credit

53 inches total X 2 = 106
ADD 20 inch spread credit = 126

Gross = 126 my guess

(and for the RECORD books...deduct for side to side differences GRRRRRRRRRR)

Oh, I know what I would do, this deer is on the top of my to-do list. This is the nicest buck I have ever SEEN on the farm in 10 years or so. I just wondered if others think it's a good deer or do you guys see deer like this every year, I don't, and I'm pumped.

Here's the one my boy killed last year on the same farm. BSK and AlanP aged the jawbone pics at 3.5. This was the 1'st 3.5 we've killed. Now I have pics of a deer that BSK says at least 4.5. I've been hunting this farm 10 years and these are the only 3.5 or better deer I've seen there, both in the last 15 months. I've killed several 2.5's but I've also let a LOT of them walk, in the last 3 or 4 years especially. It might actually be paying off. Now if I could get them to grow more than 8 points.
