Let me start out by saying that I am not trying to change the rules or start any junk just simply ask a question-with that being said I understand that it is against the law but do you think it is ok to spotlight deer in fields as long as you have permission to be on the land and there is no type of weapon in the vehicle whether it be a gun, bow,or crossbow? I think if it was legal then you might get a chance to see deer that you never get to see-not all deer walk past the cameras hanging on the trees. I understand that there would be temptation, but there is temptation when they drive down the road and see a monster buck standing in a bean field. Like I stated, I'm not out to try and get the law changed, I am just curious of other people's opinions.

No, because the law says it is not okay.

I see both sides. It would be a great scouting tool, but the temptation factor would be too much for some hunters to bear. Also, it could cause disturbance for local residents trying to sleep

It's a mala prohibita law, meaning it's a law because someone says it's a law. Much like speeding. You probably don't do that either... \:D

I live within 30 feet of a nursery. I've had to call the sheriff because they would be out shooting at 2-3am. We've had several nights that the spotlight would shine all thru the house. I don't mind going out and looking, but have respect about it and do it safely.

If I want to shine a light around property that I own at 2AM then I'll do it, law or not. However, if it were legalized, lots of problems could come about for law enforcement. Shine the field and dump the $100 rifle when green jeans reveals himself, so I would hate to see it legalized. My county already lights up like Christmas at night during deer season.

I've said it before if you want to look at deer at night...then go buy yourself a nightvision device. Problem solved....nobody is bothered this way.
