Nope, after late August, the imager cannot see the antlers. It works from heat, and shed-velvet anters have no blood suply to keep them warm.

go ahead and hunt that way - one less hunter having any sense - and one less hunter out there in the fields - just be smart.

In most of eastern NC, it is legal to spotlight deer without any weapons in the vehicle until 11pm. Deer get very smart to the lights. I've seen'em lay down in corn stubble flat on the ground and I've also seen deer get on their knees and walk down rows of soybeans and cotton. After 11pm, big no no.

When I stationed in Texas, you could spotlight as long as there was NO weapon in the vehicle. Fun stuff! Especially on those south Texas whitetail. Too much temptation around here though. People would be blasting!!
