A Rhea County Deputy and Spring City Police Officer have been charged by TWRA for spotlighting a buck last season. The Rhea County deputy has been fired. No word on any actions taken against the Spring City cop.

We had a case some years back of the sheriff of our county stopping and emptying his service revolver at robo deer, while the gw's were yelling at him on the radio to stop. Nothing ever came of it to my knowledge.

exactly why Im not a huge fan of officers of the law. I understand they are needed and many are fine folks Im sure but all I have ever seen dealing with people have had a chip on their shoulders or felt entitled bc of the badge on their shirt.

The Sheriff of Centerville TN used to have a pack of beagles that would run a deer for days! LOL he was the deer dogginest fellow in Hickman co. Wearing a badge or uniform definitely doesnt stop someone from being a Cull!

I had a police officer in my hometown tell me about some officers doing the night shift spotlighting deer . They didn't shoot any of them, but did spotlight them as a "past time" amusement......most always in the same area......
Not sure if anything ever came of it.....
