Need some advice on climbing stands. I'm a new hunter and I'll admit that climbers make me a bit nervous! What is a good stand for rifle hunting? I appreciate teh advice!

I was the same way at first, but I went with the Summit Viper and absolutely love it! you feel very safe in it, but always wear your safety harness!

I was the same way...Until I tried a summit..They are super steady and solid and really grip the tree..I used to be afraid to climb more than 12 to 15ft in a climber, now I climb 30ft every time in my summit if the tree will permit it..

I recommend the Viper (or one of its "cousins" the Titan or Goliath if you are a bigger guy). Here is a video review and user tips that might be helpful to you. http://www.pursuithunting.com/2010/04/summit-viper-review.html

I just bought a new Ole Man. They have upgraded there line to include the pro series. Mine is the grand multi-vision and weighs in at a whopping 20 pounds. this thing is very comfortable and quiet climbing. Highly recommended!
