Shaping up to be a good year - or at least pre-season - I'm seeing WAY more deer (or seeing the same deer WAY more often) - I've seen more bucks this year than in all years past at my place and on the surrounding farms -

I saw the biggest 10 pt, I've ever seen last Sunday morning - big tall G2's and G3's and fours - awesome buck -

I have been hunting a mature doe for a couple of years - she's a wiley old girl of about 6.5 or better - I have not seen her this spring - on cam or otherwise -

but I know she's around - as I there is no anicdotal evidence that she was taken last fall - I'm going to move my cam this weekend back to a spot I saw her last summer late w/fawns and see if she showes up -

She is still my number one target - but if that 10 shows his bone around my stand he might have to hit the wall \:\)

I'm definitely seeing an increase in summer resident buck numbers this year over the last two years. Fawn numbers are still a problem though.

Agreed - our fawn counts are down significantly over the last year or two -

Not sure why - food is good - weather has been hot, but I wouldn't think hot enough for die off - we are also seeing an aweful high number of yotes moving in this summer that haven't been around in the past -

I'm thinking I'll have to start a preditor hunt -

Yup, I'm beginning to believe the explosion of coyote numbers over the last couple of years is to blame for the poor fawn survival.

Been definitely seeing more this year, mostly 1.5 year olds though. A few fawns as well too.

what i am getting excited about is the fact that most of my pics and sightings have been in the daylight!! last year, i got 0, (that's ZERO!!) daylight pics and only saw 3 or 4 during daylight in season.

Best of both worlds for my areas in west TN. The coyotes numbers do seem to be jumping. No data but sightings are up as well as trail cam pics.

My deer numbers are about the same but I'm seeing very few fawns. However, my coyotes are just about gone. Don't know where they went. Still got two bobcats and a red fox.
