I am looking to buy a couple of buddy stands due to my size and wanting to feel comfortable and secure in the tree.

My question is, I see 100.00 2 mans and I see 350.00 2 mans. Accessories aside some of them look exactly alike. Same welds, same steel size.

Anybody have any comments on the difference?

Thanks in advance

Love them 416wbymag, except when it comes to putting them up or down; they're pretty heavy. I had two of the Big Game buddy stands that cost almost $200 and sold them and bought the $120 Walmart buddy stands cause I liked them better after huntin outta one.

Not to alarm you, but make sure you put it on a big enough tree and use 2 ratchet straps, one on the seat and one on the platform. Make sure to get them as tight as you can and after the first sit or two, check them to see if you can get another "click". I have had a them to try to "roll" around the tree when stepping on one side of the platform. I am a big boy too

Ps---The $100 one is just fine if it is TMA certified---rated for 500lbs

I have both and like the 2 man better. I don't feel so cramped up because there is more room if I'm alone in the 2 man. There's plenty of room for equipment or whatever. Turkinator is right. Ya need a big tree, but not too big. I agree with the straps statement too, but I add a third to the ladder at the support arm to the tree. Security is a must cause I hate to feel nervous in a shifty stand.

Also, if you dont want a 2 man, I bought a Big Dog at Co Op. I cant remember what it was called but it is for a big man. Wide seat, arm rests, and a flip over rail. The most comfortable stand I have. One other thing about the 2 man----the rail goes all the way around. You will have a 1" tube going right across your back.

I like the two man stands; you have wiggle room, and room for a backpack or whatever. The good ones will have shooting rails that move up and down, and a big, wide, seat. Some of the cheaper ones don't have wide enough seats, making them uncomfortable for long sittings.

I like mine. I set it up for a permanent stand and check it and replace straps before each season. I just checked and adjusted it Sat. Oh, and I'm 6'2" and about 235lb and it feels comfortable to me too. ;\)

Almost exclusively use 2-man ladder stands. I have none of the expensive ones, just the $100 WalMart/Co-op ones. I have no complaints about the cheap ones.
