I know plenty of us have had it,But what are we doing wrong?
I am a bloody mess when I shoot my guns every year
My eye relief not right ? am I not holding the gun properly?

I see it quite often every year on other hunters
Sometimes I do not even know it happened until I feel that warm blood running down my nose.
Meant to put this in serious forum ,but oh well.

1) you don't have the gun set into your shoulder right, 2) the eye-relief is set wrong on your scope, or 3) you are leaning over the gun and into the scope too much (generally a problem with scope eye-relief).

Probably a scope with short eye relief. What kind of scope you got?

One reason i buy scopes with a larger eye relief such as the leupolds, simmons aetec....older models..cant stand the quality of the new ones and i believe the Nikon Buckmasters has a generous amount....not all scopes are created equal on eye relief either and i dont buy them with marginal amounts.

Yep checked it....3.6 inches of eye relief on the buckmasters.

Wear safety glasses. Usually they cover over your eyebrow. The ocular usually will hit the frame of the glasses and not your face.

I'm no expert , but I do have a half doz diff scopes presently, and I have never had scope eye in 40 years. Must be the shouldering of the stock that differs between persons ? IMHO.

Had scope eye once, when I was 10 yrs old. Got it from holding the gun improperly. Have never had it the las 30 years. Like someone above said, get a good scope. The lowest grade of scope I would get is a Nikon. May make all the difference.
