That is saying alot right their.I read alot on TnDeer & people want help with their hunting.I going to try & help & hope others join in.This will help some, others it won't.If it don,t pass over it.I will do this in different forums as it applies.Lets get started. K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid 1. Determine what you want. Are you after that first deer, just want to kill a deer. You want a big buck. 2. Buy the best equipment that you can afford & become proficient with it. 3. When the window of oppurtinty opens, seal the deal. O.K. #1 Increase your odds by putting yourself to meet your goal.Want to kill a deer,go where their are alot of them, maybe unit L county.Kill a big buck,go where you are afforded an oppurtinity for that.Your time & money will determine this.If you need help with this one, give specificts about you situation & I or others on here can help you. #2 Money will determine this.Tell us what you need & can aford to spend,& we can help. Then when you get your equipment, pratice!Mr. Big didn't just pick up a rifle & shoot 500yards by accident. He knows his gun inside & out, what it likes,& he shoots alot.He could help you with his knowledge. So can others. #3 This is harder than you think. You got the deer where you want then the fever hits. The deer is walking & you feel rushed.Pressure.What can you do & coping with this, just ask.

I'm not the best shot, in fact out of the guys I hunt with I'm probably the worst but, I rarely miss a deer especially when the pressure is on.
I have a ritual when shooting, (practicing and hunting) part of that ritual is talking myself through each step of the shot. Things like telling myself to breath, whispering the yardage to myself, touch the trigger ect...
I find when I do miss its because I got sloppy and didn't use my practice routine.
