Technically............I believe it's illegal to hunt deer with a knife anyways! Knife is not approved equipment or means of taking a deer.
So "killing" a deer with a knife could be in violation too.
Shoot him, check him in, eat him and destroy the evidence!

i'd shoot him. never heard a deer cry out from having his throat slit but ive heard a goat and never wanna hear it again. give me the ticket if its after shooting time, the rifles going off!
