Anyone ever put out a Trophy Rock and have the deer not touch it. Mine had been in front of my camera 13 days the last time I checked it. I doesn't look like they have touched it and I can't remember getting a pic of them touching it. Seems like they just walk by and look at it.

I tried my best to cut it out of the plastic and let it fall to the ground without actually touching the rock. I can't say for sure that I didn't maybe touch it a little. However, I tried not to.

The last batch of pics I got at least one doe was coming back and forth for like 30 minutes and all the seemed to do was circle the rock looking at it. Its like the walk up and look at it and just walk circles around it or walk on by.

Your camera may be snapping before they actually start licking the rock. Most of my pics are of deer browsing around the area of the rock. They browse and then every so often come get a few licks and then browse some more.

Theairman, how close is the camera ? sounds like something is scaring them. usually human scent will wash off after the first rain ? usually they will pay no attention to human scent after the first day or so . I had one in Lewis co Tn that took two months for them to touch ( and I knew they were on a trail close by ) then it turned out to be one of the best licks I ever put out ! They are strange animals. Try putting it on a stump if you can , and put the camera 10 yds away.Send me a pm in a month or so and let me know what happened. Joe

they absolutley destroy my rocks. I have to retrieve them from the woods every week or so. I have found them 20 yds from my stump... Give them time they will eat it......

I had a picture of one last season within an hour of me putting it out. I've never seen them totally ignore one though.

The camera is fairly close. However, where its at it about has to be.

Try this airman I use to sit my rocks right on the bare ground got descent results but man when I moved the rock and set it up on an old stump! I can't begin to explain the activity on it when I did it

Bare ground will work just fine, matter of fact once the salt leeches into the dirt they will paw out a hole around it. Loose trace mineral salt works best and costs much much less than the Trophy rock as well. Sounds like your deer are likely already getting their salt somewhere else, but once they do discover it im sure they will start using it some.

Yes When I posted not to long ago when I put my TR out. It takes a while for them to get used to it
I would watch them kinda sneak up to it But now they are tearing it up Let it rain a couple times let a little scent get washed off The fawns love it,just give it time
