We have 2 single ladder stands at our lease that do not have any sort of rail around them. Last year we ordered a flip up shooting rail from Sportsman Guide. It seems to work ok but I hate to spend another $60 on 2 more of them. I was wondering if anyone had ever built any out of pressure treated lumber and if so could you give me some tips & tricks?

Thanks

Electrical conduit at lowes make great rails and a 10 foot piece is dirt cheap.
Find a electrician to bend it for u as needed,or about all factories mantinence departments have the conduit bender.
With a little extra conduit bolted to the stand u can attach limbs and brush to it for camo. Works for me.
Bring it to cookeville and I will bend it for u free.

I've used conduit for foot rests, too.

I have made shooting rails like that. I also use pipe insulation on the rails held on by zip lock ties to hold down the noise.

I use the big game shooting rail. Not cheap at $40 each, but the are comfy with the back cushion and you can take some of the camo matierial that wally world sells for like $10 and make a blind around you.I have one on all of my basic ladder stand s that don't have a shooting rail..They are rock solid too..
