I always hunt from the ground during the muzzleloader and rifle seasons, but I'm getting a leafy suit and going to try to go VietCong on some whitetails this year with my bow during the rut. I figure on the coldest mornings this would keep me moving like the predator so I am going to test my skills.

Im with you, I love hunting on the ground. I just feel like I can be more mobile if I need to be. BTW UTGrad, is that the University of Texas? :

Keep movement to a minimum, use natural cover and it might work out...even with the orange on.

Yes, movement is the key when ground hunting, whether you have orange on or not. Especially the head and hands. By the way, even if you are 25 feet up a tree. Even in a tree, the land might look relativley flat, but if you go out several yards from the tree, you would be surprised at the elavation changes.
When you think you are 20ft. or higher above a deer, you actually might not be 5 or 6 foot above down range.
Do deer ever look up or slightly up? I rest my case.
