a couple of my stands is rite at a mile off the beaten path. It takes forever to get there. I thank the lord im able to do so.

300 yards up to a half mile...but that's farmland, not mountains.

Shorter distances during archery season, say 50-500 yards from vehicle most times. My biggest problem is I perspire like the dickens and it kills my confidence being up a tree before daylight sweaty. I just feel like the deer can smell me 100X more.
As it cools of in late Oct on through Dec I will routinely walk or ride a bike 1-2 miles to hunt.

A better question might be how far are you willing to drag a deer out. I will walk up to a couple miles one way to hunt but generally in the ball park of 3/4 mile. If I'm going to have to drag a long distance I'm only shooting top end deer. I have some hunting spots I can get to in a few minutes walk. A few of them have good potential for seeing the type bucks I'm after but that's generally where I'll drop my does.

I used to walk 1 mile to a place that I hunt at LBL. After I got my GPS, that stand site was only 1/2 mile away. Don't know how it got that much closer after I measured it with the GPS.
There are very few places that I hunt where you can get one mile from a road.

About 200 yards...I hunt a 40 acre bean field with the drive way in the middle of the property. It is nice to drive up to the deer and load and go
